Who am I?

I am Jeremy Wiederspahn, and Splitzero Designs is my creative outlet to the world. Since the wee morning hours of the World Wide Web, I have been handcrafting websites. It was a hobby that has become a career passion in design – including graphic design, visual design, typography, print and digital layout, and even physical design avenues such as visual merchandising and interior design.

Simply put, I love to make things look pretty together. Lines, colors, shapes, and patterns are the paint for my canvas.

I am a father of two, husband to one, a capable handyman around the house, and an avid, longtime gamer.

Software Expertise

Design software is my specialty, so I am fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I am also an advanced user of Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Visio, and SharePoint. Additionally, I am familiar with 3D design software used to create interactive home tours and interior design.

Finally, I have dabbled in audio and video editors to create fun videos of my online gaming pastime, as well as various video streaming software. I have touched on a range of other software including programming, database development, and even a little AutoCAD.

My Education & Design Experience

I have a completed Bachelors of Science in Information Technology and my study emphasis was web design. My Masters degree awaits just two classes which have been sidelined by the needs of family and real life – namely raising children and paying the bills – but it should be completed sometime in 2016.

Since my junior high school days, I have been involved in design. My interest was sprung from the old yearbook class in 8th grade, developed through layout and design during my time as an editor of my high school newspaper, and reached a roaring passion by the time I become Editor in Chief of my college paper, The Lariat. All tallied, I have a compiled a laundry list of design experience:

  • 12 years in web design
  • 10 years graphic and visual design
  • 8 years print publishing
  • 2 years large format and 4-color printing experience

My Employment History

Life has enabled me to a fairly broad working experience. From my first job working in a local toy store to military service, I’ve had the opportunity to lead and follow in multiple genres of work. I have several years experience in retail, including as an assistant manager. I separated from the United States Air Force after 7 years, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. I have worked on the staff of several newspapers, making it to Editor in Chief twice. My current employment is with a major retailer as a visual merchandiser, with the majority of my time spent designing marketing materials such as posters, banners, and other signage.
